Summer Sargent
Executive Senior Living Advisor

In Summer’s previous position as an Executive Director for two different Assisted Living communities, she became well versed in Assisted Living regulations put forth by the Department of Health and Human Services. She has experience with Medicaid, Medicaid waiver, Home Health and Hospice processes for the post-acute settings.  Community collaboration is the key when assisting patients after an emergency department (E.D) visit, hospital or rehab stay to reduce re-hospitalizations and elicit better outcomes for healthy living options. Working with post-acute services to allow residents to age in a place where they are comfortable, is an initiative Summer is a firm advocate of fostering with community partners.

In 2016, Summer and her team transitioned 27 general assisted living apartments to memory care in an effort to provide more services to those with an Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia diagnosis. Along with the memory care transition, she increased the Assisted Living licensure from 40 to 160 potential residents. A partnership was created with Genesis Home Healthcare for a complete therapy gym that opened at a previous property on October 1, 2015.

Summer served as the Omaha District Chair and Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Assisted Living Association from 2015-2017. This position allowed her a front seat to new legislation in long-term care, the opportunity to connect with lawmakers and assist with advocating for better ways to care for our aging population.  In addition to serving as the Chair and Vice-Chair, Summer was a pioneer participant in the State of Nebraska L.E.A.D (Lead, Educate, Advocate and Develop) program.

In the spring of 2017, she received her certificate as a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner through the NCCDP.

Now, Summer is our Executive Senior Living Advisor using her community connections to build a solid foundation for our new residents to thrive in.
